Country music star Miranda Lambert grew up in Lindale, where her journey to super stardom began.

Her lifestyle boutique “The Pink Pistol” is a local attraction and destination for fans of Miranda’s from near and far. Currently the downtown of Lindale is being re-developed into a “Live, play and work environment”,

that will feature four different size concert venues with state of the art sound and technology.

Lindale also has a world class equestrian park within five miles.

Enjoy golf, farmers market, fishing, community theater, festivals and sports throughout the area. Lindale has two large parks, and the Old Mill Pond Agricultural Museum. Quality hotels, unique shopping and dining make Lindale a perfect getaway destination.

Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert may be a Country Music Superstar, but to the folks in Lindale, she's more than that. She's our Hometown Girl!

It was in our little corner of the world that Miranda heard her first country tune, wrote her first country song, sang her first country note. That charming twang of hers comes as natural as a bluebird's song in Spring. "I'm from East Texas. I can't change my accent. And no matter what I sing, it's country music."

Aren't we glad!

"Lindale, to me, is my foundation. Between my family and this place, it's who I am and why I can go out there and do all the things that I do."

And boy, has she done a lot!

Miranda is now the most nominated female artist in CMA history with a record-breaking 55 career nominations. She's currently up for 7 nominations at the 54th Annual CMA Awards.

But even after winning a total of 74 major awards, she's still drawing from her roots. Of her new album, Wildcard, she says, "When people listen to this record, I want them to know that I see them and hear them. I feel you, because I'm just a girl from East Texas, writing about all the things that go on in my world and in the worlds of people around me."

Lindale is the heart of Miranda's world. Visitors, or as we like to call 'em--Guests-- come from all over to experience the downhome, country life that is Miranda.

As her momma, Bev, puts it, "She's a Texas girl. She's born and bred... It's in her spirit and it shows in her life."

It shows in our community, too.

Welcome to Lindale, y'all.

Miranda's love for animals has always been an important part of who she is. While volunteering at local shelters, Miranda adopted her first pup, Delilah, as a companion when she started touring. A few years down the road, Miranda and her momma, Bev, founded MuttNation Foundation, an organization with a mission to end animal suffering and homelessness on every front.

Including the Lindale front.

While in town, guests and their fur-families are invited to visit Lindale's leash-free City Dog Park located behind MuttNation Station, a "paw"-some adoption center created from a restored 1907 home. The house, once belonging to the Lindale City Marshal, was relocated to the northwest corner of Darden Harvest Park and renovated by Miranda's MuttNation, Greater Good, and Rescue Rebuild.

MuttNation Station gives adoptees a chance to see how pets will act in a home-like setting, which, we've learned, greatly increases adoption rates. Owners can also bring their current fur-babies to interact with the rescue pups to determine how they may get along. In addition, Tyler Junior College Vet Tech Program provides all spay and neuter services, temperament testing, and shots. Not only does this collaboration give students hands-on training, but it gifts new pet-parents with the services their fur-babies need.

Local dog-lovers and guests alike are invited to enjoy this pet-social center and outdoor community created by Miranda with their fur-families in mind. Lindale also offers pet-friendly hotel accommodations, so don't leave home without them!

In 2020, Miranda's MuttNation Foundation is celebrating its 11th Anniversary. Since its inception in 2009, MuttNation has raised over $4.5 million in support of shelters and of its mission to promote the adoption of rescue pets.

Friends and family, wine and music have always been at the heart of the Lambert's Family traditions. So, in 2006 the family launched the Signature Wines of Miranda Lambert to celebrate those traditions, with a collection inspired by Miranda's multi-platinum, Grammy-winning music.

Red 55 Wines, named after Miranda's 1955 Fire Engine Red Chevy step-side pickup, offers 12 varietals, including a sparkling wine. Their wines are produced, cellared, bottled and shipped from a state-of-the-art winery located not the Lambert Family homestead.

Wine-loving guests are invited to visit the beautiful Hemmingway Tasting Room located inside The Pink Pistol boutique. Named after Miranda’s dad’s favorite author, The Hemmingway Room is open daily for your sipping pleasure. Darden Harvest Park

Lindale, Texas

The first phase of Harvest Park in downtown Lindale is officially open as city officials and other dignitaries joined to cut a ceremonial ribbon on Thursday (March 23) at the park located in Blackberry Square. Situated on 23 acres, the park is located in the heart of Lindale’s growing Cannery District downtown.

Mayor Jeff Daugherty did the ribbon cutting honors. The mayor expressed his excitement and anticipation concerning the new park. "The citizens of Lindale deserve a nice place to enjoy for their family activities within the city limits,’’ he said. “It has been a long time goal of mine to do just that.’’ Daugherty praised his fellow council members and others involved who have helped make the park a reality. “I've had the privilege to serve alongside the great members of our city council, parks board and city staff,’’ he said. “Lindale is truly a great community with even greater people. The council members and I hope you enjoy this first phase of our new Darden Harvest Park at Blackberry Square.’’

The land was purchased in 2007 and work began on Harvest Park in late 2016. The first phase of the park includes the infrastructure and nearly a one mile walking trail. Phase II will have added features like a splash pad, playground equipment, pavilion and a concert stage.

City Manager, Carolyn Caldwell, who has championed this downtown park for many months, was also pleased to be on hand for the ribbon cutting. “This has been a longtime vision of the mayor and council to provide a new park for the citizens of Lindale,’’ said Caldwell. “It is a true celebration of their willingness to endure hard decisions, late nights and called meetings.

Press Release - June 2018

Lindale City officials were notified in July 2018, by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) they had approved the City of Lindale’s grant proposal for the Darden Harvest Park project through the Land and Water Conservation Fund.  City Council gratefully voted to accept the $400,000 matching grant from Texas Parks and Wildlife on July 17, 2018 at the designated council meeting.  One of the requirements of the Grant Funding is no funds can be spent prior to the city receiving a “Notice to Proceed” or those funds would not be reimbursed to the city.  During the same Council Meeting, the Council unanimously voted to halt all the projects that were in the process of being constructed that now would be covered under the grant application.

The Grant will allow the city to complete Darden Harvest Park adding a Splash Pad, Playground, Restroom Facilities, Additional Walking Trails, Disc Golf, Signage, Trail Benches, Fishing Pier, Dog Park Trails, Parking, Pavilions, Enhancement of Nature Areas, Grassing, Tree Planting and Irrigation and Picnic Areas. The Grant is for $400,000 and the city will match $353,000 along with $47,000 Donated Funds.

The Grant will be funded in January 2019 and “Notice to Proceed” should be issued in March 2019.

City Officials would have liked to have seen the Splash Pad and Restroom Facilities completed this year, however, this grant allows us to put so many additional elements into the park.

The project will follow all ADA guidelines in design and construction.  It has been documented that children with ADD and ADHD perform better when outdoors and participating in activities and environments where they feel comfortable.  The development of the Darden Harvest Park provides both passive and recreational opportunities for children who prefer to engage with other children socially on the splash pad or playground or those who would prefer to quietly interact with puppies at the dog park or in the natural areas.  The park will provide accessible routes to all areas of the park so that all children and adults, regardless of their abilities can reconnect with one another.

Receiving this grant was a game changer for the City of Lindale, with guaranteed funding in March of 2019. Once construction is completed, the Darden Harvest Park will be a great asset for the Lindale Community to enjoy.
